Questions
What people ask before they join.
What can I ask for?
Anything lawful that we can arrange with a clear conscience: travel, cars, hotels, restaurants, tickets, goods, deliveries, errands, business support and the things that fit no category at all. If you are unsure, ask. The answer is often yes.
How do I become a member?
Choose a username and a password on the invitation page. That is all we ask for: no email, no name, no phone number. Every request is read by a person, and you sign in with your username to see the answer. Membership begins once your first top up covers the annual fee.
What does membership cost?
$100,000 a year, which includes your Obsidian phone. What you ask us to buy or book on your behalf is quoted separately, line by line, and taken from your balance only when you approve the quote.
Do I receive a phone?
Yes. Every new member receives a Google Pixel 10 running Obsidian OS, prepared for them before it arrives, with Obsidian Concierge, encrypted messaging, private browsing and a Monero wallet already in place. It is the most private way to use the service.
It leaves by express delivery within 24 hours of your fee being paid. You give the delivery address on this website after paying, with any name you like for the parcel. Both are encrypted, seen only by the person who sends it, and erased the moment it is delivered.
The member app runs on the Obsidian phone. The website is only for joining and paying the fee.
How quickly will my request be handled?
As quickly as it honestly can be. When you make a request you can say when you need it: as soon as possible, within an hour, at a particular time. That tells us what to aim for. Your concierge then confirms what is actually possible, and you will see every step on the request as it happens.
Requests marked urgent go to your concierge and the whole operations team at the same moment.
Will anything be taken without my agreement?
No. Anything with a cost comes to you first as a quote, showing the service, any delivery, taxes and fees, and the total. Nothing is booked, and nothing leaves your balance, until you press Approve.
How do I pay?
In Monero. Your account holds a balance in US dollars, and you top it up whenever you like by sending Monero to the address shown in your app. Every top up gets a new address, so your payments cannot be linked to each other.
A top up is added to your balance once the Monero network has confirmed it, usually within about twenty minutes, at the exchange rate when it arrives. There are no cards, no bank transfers, and no receipts sent to you.
What records do you keep?
As few as we can. Our servers do not record internet addresses or browser details, for visitors or for members. Thirty days after a request is completed or cancelled, it is erased: what you asked for, the conversation, the files, places and quotes. When our team opens your account, the system notes who and when, never what they saw, so nobody can look without it being known; that note is erased after thirty days too.
What remains is what the law requires for money, kept bare: the amount and date of each top up and each charge, with nothing about what was bought.
Who can see my requests?
You, your concierge, and the small number of our team whose role requires it, while the request exists. Each role sees only what it needs: our finance team, for example, sees balances but not what was bought.
What will appear on my lock screen?
Only that Obsidian Concierge has an update for you. The details are shown once you open the app and sign in. We hold no email address for you, so nothing arrives in an inbox either.
Can someone else make requests for me?
You can list authorised contacts, such as an assistant or a family member, in your profile, and tell us which of them may ask on your behalf.
Can I get a copy of my data, or have it deleted?
Yes. You can download a copy from the app at any time, and ask for your account to be deleted there too. The only thing we must keep is the bare record of top ups and charges described above, for as long as the law requires.
Something we did not answer?
Ask it when you request your invitation, and we will answer personally.
